The Impossible Plastic Bag, 2020

Polymer clay, chicken wire mesh, cling wrap and plastic bag

40cm X 30cm X 10cm

Through the metaphor of a breaking plastic bag, this artwork addresses mankind's ironic and futile attempts at solving environmental issues. It mocks at how most people are only keen to do what is convenient when curbing environmental issues. Using the analogy of "impossible meat", this artwork illustrates how if one keeps opting for the convenient option, instead of a solution that is more effective but requires more sacrifice. Like the plastic bags, the environment, will be overburdened and torn.
