This artwork shows how the subconscious powers in the artist's life, such as school, people and parents have affected her. On closer inspection, viewers may observe that the many layers of papers form a mask. The depiction of the artist's face and hands trying to crawl out of an external "mask" aims to show how these expectations are ultimately constricting her, and provide a facade instead of exhibiting her truest and rawest emotions.
