The artwork aims to explore the nature of disgust and how rather than it being innate, we are taught to be repulsed by certain objects or things. The function of disgust is to keep us away fro things that can potentially harm us, but contrary to the common belief, cockroaches pose little threat to us as compared to other insects which we are not disgusted by. The dots in the background are representative of the goosebumps one may feel when looking at cockroaches and how they slowly disappear when the cockroaches disappear as well.
