But Orange: "Why did you do that?", 2020

Acrylic on canvas

60cm X 43cm X 2.1cm

This artwork shows the darker side of life experienced by the artist. The orange paint used symbolises how she had battled with personal issues. The dull colours represent a lack of happiness, and feelings of emptiness and loneliness. The distortion of the face is inspired by the movie "Joker" showing how she forced herself to smile to hide her inner turmoil. She hopes that this artwork would be an educational outreach to others not to do the same.
