Ageing, 2020

Charcoal, Chinese ink and gold leaf on watercolour paper

114cm X 78.9cm

Ageing explores the notion of how we lose complex biological structures in our own bodies as we age. Each piece is a depiction of a form inspired by human embryo cells. The larger piece represents the complexity we have as youths while the smaller piece represents the loss of complexity with age.
