Dulhaan, 2020

Acrylic on canvas

45.7cm X 61cm

This artwork aims to explore the relationship between Indian culture and Singapore. The art style employed in this artwork is a traditional Indian folk art style called Madhubani, which typically depicts brides, animals and gods. The artist wants to convey the idea of how her perception of the Indian culture can be diluted by another country's influence as represented through one of Singapore's iconic landmarks, Gardens By The Bay.
