The artist wants to address the global issue of cultural dilution. Exemplified by her neighbourhood, Jurong Lake Gardens. This Local Singaporean scenery takes a spin on the traditional Chinese painting sceneries which are usually devoid of houses and humans, and mainly focus on nature. The integration of Chinese painting techniques with a local Singaporean scenery also expresses her two identities as a Singaporean and a mainland Chinese, and symbolizes the nostalgia she feels for the latter.
